Individual Goals

Having received funding to carry out activities on behalf of local children, Sage realised that whilst individual activities would be meaningful and greatly enjoyable to each child, the most positive way to use the funding would be to genuinely give the children support to develop self esteem, confidence and ambition. As a result, each child was asked to come up with their Individual Goals, focussing on key areas where some of the children struggle, ie Learning, Family, Friends and Health. By having the children decide what their goals are within each area, they are encouraged to think about real life style choices, rather than just a series of one-off activities. This also makes children realise that they can take responsibility for where they go in life, that they can influence their future, whatever their present situation.

The pie charts below show the responses of some of the children when they were asked to think about Health, Learning, Family and Friends.
