Youth
Comedy Project
Downham is a funny place to be sometimes,
as those who took part in a 10-week Youth Comedy Project found out.
These lucky young people worked with professional comedy workshop
leader, Jack Milner, who has run sessions all over the UK. With them
Jack explored the nooks and crannies of comedy, showing how humour
can take the stress out of our lives, helping us to communicate and
interact with others on a whole new level. Through group games and
tasks, Jack explained to the young people how to make the most of
their comedic abilities. By the end of the workshops the young people
had created a new piece of comedy - a mixture of stand-up and sketches.
The final pieces were performed at the Broadway Theatre, Catford,
as part of Spikefest UK, Lewisham's Comedy Festival, and also in the
West End, as part of the London Comedy Festival.
